Chapter helps schools tackle recruitment challenges

Turn the page on low application numbers, poor quality candidates and lengthy processes with Chapter Education.

Who We Are

Chapter was born out of a desire to help schools tackle the challenges they face with their recruitment.

As the Education arm of public sector recruitment specialists Jobsgopublic, we are determined to take the stress out of school recruitment. We have combined two decades of recruitment experience with education HR expertise, to place ourselves in the best possible position to provide solutions that directly meet our clients’ needs.

Speaking to schools, academies and trusts across the UK, we hear the same thing again and again – the recruitment methods they’ve been using for many years just simply don’t work anymore.
It’s time for a fresh start!

The way we operate is very much a partnership. We take the time to understand where your recruitment is falling short, before recommending the products and services to suit your individual situation. This is not a ‘one size fits all’ operation, rather a one stop shop for any recruitment need.

Our Approach

We understand that your recruitment journey can take some unexpected turns – plot twists that make finding the right candidate very difficult, if not impossible.

We also recognise that whilst many experience very similar challenges, no two schools are exactly the same – that’s why our solutions can be used in any combination to directly match your individual situation.

Our Team

In developing our offer, we have brought together a unique mix of recruitment and HR experts as well as an incredible team of marketing professionals, software and web developers.

The Chapter team are headed up by our Head of Education Partnerships, Adele D’Silva. Adele is a CIPD and REC qualified HR professional and recruitment strategy expert. Fuelled by her passion for helping schools, academies, trusts and authorities attract and recruit the very best people, Adele has established herself as one of the leading figures in education recruitment.

Before joining Jobsgopublic and, subsequently, founding Chapter, Adele spent 15 years developing and implementing recruitment strategies linked directly to school improvement. This included 11 years working at London Borough of Havering as part of the education HR team.

During this time, Adele was also a lead advisor for Safer Recruitment, ensuring that education institutions’ recruitment processes were in line with government legislation and best practice. And as if that all wasn’t enough, Adele is also a chair of governors for a federation of schools, all of whom recently improved their Ofsted rating.

Adele’s passion and experience has driven the formation and launch of Chapter, as we look to help schools tackle their recruitment challenges head on. Get in touch to speak to Adele or another member of the team to see how Chapter can help you turn the page on ineffective recruitment.

Our Clients Say

We have had a 59% increase in applications since we have moved over to the ATS system. Schools have started loading their own adverts which is saving time for me as I can just go in and check them. The vacancy bulletin has had over 200 sign ups and I foresee that this will eventually replace our manual vacancy newsletter which will again save time.

Our school needed to modernise and strengthen our Recruitment footprint, Chapter helped clarify and guide our decision making processes to ensure that we can now compete in what is a very demanding and austere market place for exceptional teachers.

We would have no hesitation in recommending the Employer Account and Online Application Form to other schools. It has saved schools time and significantly lessened the stress that so often comes with the recruiting process.

Julie Jones - Teacher Recruitment Coordinator
Medway Schools

The training and the mini recruitment workshops were professional and really well received and has helped to build our ‘enhanced recruitment service’. Having Adele on board has been indispensable. She has been able to draw on her education background and really relate to the schools which I believe has helped push up engagement.

We would wholeheartedly recommend Chapter Education to others, especially for those looking to move their recruitment methods into the 21st century and genuinely compete in a tough market. Their expertise and knowledge are unquestionable and they have a professional yet warm and friendly manner that makes them accessible and highly effective.

Carrie McKenzie - Head of HR and Organisational Change
Medway Council

The education team from Chapter are a perfect mix of ex-education professionals and HR specialists who know ‘their stuff’; they explain processes in a relaxed, yet professional way and unlike many Recruitment companies, there was no hard-sell nor did you ever feel overwhelmed by the various meetings – highly recommended…

The system is very straightforward to use. The manuals and user guides are really professional, useful and easily digestible and many of our schools have just been following these to train themselves. This is a credit to how well they have been produced as even those staff that are not as technically proficient are finding them easy to follow.

It was very easy to understand what the Chapter team were trying to achieve, how they were going to do it and what the expected outcomes would be;  I think their vision for the world of education and the challenges we face in recruitment are extremely refreshing and a giant leap in the way we do business.
